The Paintings:
The paintings are carefully observed accurate studies of flowers fruit and
vegetables. The medium of watercolour is perfect for capturing the translucent
qualities and delicate textures of petals and leaves. Realism and truth to
nature are my guiding principles. I aim to paint something
so
realistic you could pick it off the page!
Some of my favourite subjects are Grapes, Lilies, Orchids, Primulas
and
large exotics such as Strelitzias and Cannas. I have also produced
a collection of work featuring blue and white china jugs from my
own collection of Spode, Staffordshire and Masons Ironstone pieces.
Giclee prints:
A high resolution scanner is used to capture the vibrant colours
and
meticulous detail of the paintings. The image is inkjet printed,
via
computer, on to acid free 310g/m2 paper. This paper has a similar
texture
and colour to the finest quality hot pressed watercolour paper. New
non-fading archive quality pigmented inks are used and the results
are
stunning. The prints are supplied in bevel cut, off-white mounts
with a
slight linen texture and wrapped in clear film for protection. The
larger
prints are packed with protective board for safe transportation. |
