Annelies
Clarke trained as an artist first at the Rotterdam Academy of Art
and then at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence. She moved
from Italy to Brighton in 1980. She paints in oils and watercolours,
and designs and makes stained-glass windows. She is a member of
the Fiveways Artists Group, the association of Brighton artists which
pioneered the Open House exhibitions during Brighton's arts festival
in May each year. She accepts a small number of portrait commissions
each year.
